Chief of Police, Frank L. Fowler is the Chief Executive Officer of the Syracuse Police Department and is the final authority in all matters of Department policy, operations, and discipline. The Chief of police is accountable to the mayor and Common Council of the City of Syracuse.

  • Ensures that the Departments Mission is executed efficiently and effectively.

  • Creates a vision of the desired future state of the Department.

  • Develops strategic goals and objectives.

  • Empowers and leads subordinates

  • Plans, organizes, directs, staffs, coordinates, and controls all Departmental functions.

Syracuse police seek help to identify teens in fatal attack outside store
Police said 51-year-old Michael Daniels was standing alone around 9:40 p.m. Thursday outside the Los Amigos Market at the corner of West Brighton and Cannon streets when he was attacked by a group of teenagers.
